Board Organization

Individuals who participate in multiple sports requiring boards often face the same storage challenges. Without a dedicated system, the expensive equipment is often left leaning against a wall or piled in a corner, leading to a cluttered space and unnecessary damage to the board's edges and finishes.

The solution for this had to utilize vertical space rather than area on the floor, aditionaly this solution had to accommodate a multitude of different board lengths, widths, and weights being able to be mounted on a wall without causing major damage or lengths repairs once removed.

The primary goal was to install an organizational system that protects equipment while streamlining access. Success was determined by the ability to transform an existing pile of equipment into a clean, accessible, and visually appealing display. 

I opted for a vertical storage system; this is a perfect balance of easy removal and aesthetic appeal of the rack. The system is mounted with a French cleat to provide the highest amount of structural stability with the least amount of damage to the desired storage wall. Each variation of board has its own dedicated mounting accessory, which provides the highest amount of stability over a universalized solution. Meaning the user can acquire the desired amount of mounting solutions depending on their own personal equipment.

This system removed all equipment from the floor, eliminating the risk of damage. By creating dedicated mounting solutions for each board, the risk of damage is reduced. Each board can be individually removed from the slot without having to disturb other gear. The clutter of a pile leaned up against the wall was replaced with an organized, functional display that showcases the user's passions in an aesthetic feature in one's home.
